Report: Gazprom may announce partnership on Nord Stream-2 in Apr

MOSCOW, Apr 6 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom plans to announce a partnership with European companies on the Nord Stream-2 project in April, First Deputy CEO Alexander Medvedev told Bloomberg in an interview on Thursday.

He did not specify details of the outlined financing model for the project.

The Nord Stream-2 project envisages construction of two lines of a natural gas pipeline with an annual capacity of up to 55 billion cubic meters, running from the Russian shore to Germany under the Baltic Sea. Gazprom plans to implement the project together with Germany’s E.ON and BASF, Royal Dutch Shell, Austria’s OMV, and France’s Engie.

In 2016, the companies submitted notification of creation of a joint venture to the German and Polish antimonopoly service, but had to withdraw it, as Poland objected.
